Simply Red Summer Funk ‘27 Tour
SIMPLY RED BRING THEIR SUMMER FUNK ‘27 TOUR TO PULA ARENA!
Mick Hucknall and one of the most successful British bands of all time, Simply Red, will perform at Pula Arena on 24 July 2027. Pre-sale tickets available from 22 September!
Simply Red, the band that has brought together soul, pop and funk in a string of timeless hits, are returning to Croatia! Following their sold-out concert in 2023, they will return to Pula Arena on 24 July 2027 as part of their summer Summer Funk ‘27 tour.
The tour brings together remarkable historic locations, such as the Anfiteatro agli Scavi in Pompeii, Italy, and Pula’s amphitheatre, with venues surrounded by stunning natural scenery, such as Sauerland Park in Hemer, Germany. Other highlights include their first-ever show at Gunnersbury Park in London, a concert at Halifax’s renowned Piece Hall, and two nights at Amsterdam’s state-of-the-art Ziggo Dome.
The tour’s concerts will be packed with mega hits that get audiences on their feet – from the energetic “Fairground”, through the infectious funk of “Something Got Me Started”, to the sumptuous soul of “Money’s Too Tight (To Mention)”. The atmosphere created by the songs and setlist will be further enhanced by these special concert locations.
Led by Mick Hucknall, whose timeless soul vocals remain as remarkable, powerful and passionate as ever, Simply Red also features Ian Kirkham (saxophone, EWI, brass), Kenji Suzuki (guitar), Kevin Robinson (trumpet, horns, percussion), Roman Roth (drums), Gary Sanctuary (keyboards) and Orefo Orakwue (bass).
“We can’t wait to get back out on the road again in summer 2027 to perform at some incredible and historic venues across the UK and Europe. You can expect a set full of Simply Red upbeat hits to get you on your feet, having fun in the sun with friends and family,” said Mick Hucknall about the upcoming tour.
“Summer Funk ‘27” will be Simply Red’s first tour since their 40th anniversary celebrations in 2025. The tour sold out almost 50 venues across the UK, Europe and Latin America, leaving delighted audiences wherever they performed. The tour was also documented in the live album, film and box set “Holding Back the Years: 40 Years of Simply Red, Live in Santiago”.
Throughout their more than 40-year career, Simply Red have maintained their position as one of the UK’s biggest bands. Their success is reflected in the numbers: five #1 albums, a #1 single and another nine Top 10 hits, as well as three BRIT Awards, two Ivor Novello Awards and a MOBO Award for Outstanding Achievement.
Their iconic 1991 album “Stars” was the best-selling album in the UK and Europe for two consecutive years, and every Simply Red studio album has reached the UK Top Ten.
The scale of the “Summer Funk ‘27” tour once again underlines Simply Red’s enduring appeal to audiences around the world.
